Together with many good people I make dance, lists, theater, ceramic tiles and vessels, sounds, fictional worlds, meditations, performative meal experiences, and healing touch games. I like to build things up slowly, in bits, how birds and water build homes for themselves. Small shifts of accumulated material, piles. They vibrate! They sing, in a whisper, like a crowd, and beg you to lean in close, to make your world small, like digging through a square inch of dirt: roots and beetles and worms and sudden frog leaps. I want to be strange together so we can meet each other each time.
I make art to extend an invitation to the senses, to notice, to inhabit the body with curiosity and delight. A gift of exploration, of wellbeing, of following impulse, newness! In doing so I hope to be part of the world Becoming, in a way that is in favor of non-productivity, of swelling with love for, say, every sound of wind moaning or new way of feeling about genitals. I believe learning to be present together and show up for ourselves is healing and necessary for our future.
